Development Update: March 2019
Over the last few months you may have noticed improved access to Raine Square from William and Queen Streets with a lot more people enjoying the public open space in Raine Plaza.
Works have also continued on our Stage 2 – Commercial and Fashion Precinct with our first tenant, Jupiter Health CBD completing its fit out and now open. The bulk-billing GP centre offers a range of GP health care service to city residents, workers and visitors.
Work has also commenced on the iconic Royal Hotel building, located on the corner of Wellington and William Streets. The 137-year-old hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation with plans to restore it to its former glory.
Originally built in 1882, the Royal Hotel will be a ‘modern and artistic take on historic bones’, with a highly unique style that is sophisticated yet fun.
Under development by John Parker, the man behind The Standard in Northbridge and Halford Bar in the State Buildings, the new 800 capacity Royal Hotel will include a restaurant and saloon bar on the ground floor, two bars and event space on the first floor and a large north facing veranda.
The Royal Hotel is part of Raine Square’s whole precinct redevelopment and is set to open in late 2019.
Further works will be undertaken over coming months including new retailer fit-outs, and next month several new tenant arrivals will be announced.
