RADIATE

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Event Date

01.03.2026 - 31.03.2026

Celebrate International Women’s Day this March with a lively lineup across Raine Square and Bankwest Place.

Starting with the Care to Rewear Clothes Swap led by textile storyteller and circular fashion advocate Stephanie Pontet, who brings sustainability to life by helping people fall back in love with the clothes they already own.

While you’re swapping your gently loved pieces, you can also explore the Be Inspired portrait series that highlights incredible women from the 300 Murray community and Raine Medical Research Foundation, and check out Perth artist Michaela Psaila-Savona’s powerful work that captures the resilience and strength of women navigating life’s biggest transitions.

Throughout the month, you’re invited to donate corporate wear to Dress for Success WA to support women entering the workforce, and enjoy the Spotlight Series through the Short Story Machine, where each button press delivers a story filled with creativity, courage, and community spirit.

UN Women Australia announces “Balance the Scales” as the official theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026, highlighting the urgent need to ensure fair, inclusive, and accessible justice for every woman and girl. UN Women / UN Women Au

Care to Rewear Clothes Swap

📍Activation Space (12), Raine Square, Ground Floor

📅 17, 18, 19 and 21 March

🕛 11am - 2pm

The Process

💜 Drop off up to 10 pre-loved items (clothes, jewellery, accessories, and shoes only)

💜 Browse and swap for fresh fashion finds

💜 Enjoy a wardrobe refresh in a welcoming, community-focused space

💜Please note: Adult clothing only.

Let’s make fashion fair, sustainable, and empowering because balancing the scales starts with everyday choices.

Join us in championing fairness and sustainability with our Care to Rewear Clothes Swap, inspired by the theme “Balance the Scales.” Together we can create a more inclusive future starting with how we consume fashion.

Bring up to 10 gently loved items including clothing, accessories, or shoes and swap them for something new-to-you. It’s a chance to declutter, discover unique pieces, and support a circular fashion economy that values equality and accessibility for all.

The Why .... Stephanie Pontet is a textile storyteller and circular fashion advocate who founded Care to Rewear to make sustainability tangible, creative, and human. Through collaborations with councils, schools, and organisations, she encourages people to slow down and reconnect with the clothes they own by mending, repurposing, and swapping garments. Her work celebrates craftsmanship and care, inspired by her grandmother’s artistry, and invites us to “care to rewear” by repairing and cherishing clothing, and “dare to rewear” by embracing reuse as an act of hope and quiet rebellion.
